BBC Cardiff Singer of the World holds an important place in the international musical calendar as well as here in Wales. This Gala concert is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate some of the exceptional voices to emerge from this competition to be enjoyed not just at the Wales Millennium Centre but by audiences across the UK.
BBC Cardiff Singer of the World will stage a gala concert to celebrate the internationally renowned competition in October 2025. Featuring previous winners and competitors of the well-known competition it will form part of the Wales Millennium Centre’s Llais Festival which celebrates music and singing in all its artforms. The concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Four and BBC Two Wales later in the year.
The Gala concert promises to be a celebration of voice and opera featuring some of the biggest names in classical music. It will be staged as part of Llais; Llais is Cardiff’s international music festival, bringing artists and audiences together for incredible live music, thought-provoking performance and inspirational talks.
The concert will be in place of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2025. The competition will return in 2027.
