Shhhhhhh!
How many reference librarians does it take to change a light-bulb?
(said with a perky smile) "Well, I don't know off-hand, but I know where we can look it up!"
Perhaps Dafydd Wigley might like to brush up on his library jokes. Not only because the House of Lords has a great one but because - and whisper this - he's my tip as the incoming President of the National Library in Aberystwyth.
Shhhhhh!

Following last weeks meeting of the Library council he is everybody's tip except the job of president requires one and a half days a week at a pay rate that is truly Cardi-like in comparison with the attendance allowance of a working peer. Also they say that the appointment is being blocked by Llafur pedantics who say the post should not be political.
If they paid the going rate for such a job then they could have someone like Professor John Davies, Derek Llwyd Morgan etc etc for example who could do the job and be paid properly for doing it!
