I'm the BBC's media correspondent and this is my brief selection of what's going on.
The Independent asks what next for Channel Five after the "bloodbath"? The Guardian reports that Channel Five is losing up to 80 staff, including seven directors, and moving out of its Covent Garden building, as part of £20m cuts.
The BBC has received 3,701 freedom of information requests for info "held for purposes other than those of journalism, art or literature". The Guardian publishes the list. The BBC is not obliged to publish information related to its creative output.
Zoe Williams in the Guardian says the government is right to cut its advertising budget and jobs at the Central Office of Information.
What impact will the 50% cut in government advertising have? On Radio 4's Today programme yesterday, former director general of government information Mike Granatt and veteran adman Dave Trott discuss the issue.
According to the BBC newspaper review many papers express serious concern about the UK economy after a downbeat outlook from the Bank of England.
