Their combined weight had probably exceeded the rides weight restriction. Therewere claims that the woman was more like 20st in weight. With the help of a lifeguard the woman managed to become free but slipped as she stepped onto the water slide.
It took 3 fire engines, two ambulances and a two hour effort to free her. During this time her young children were cared for by the camp nursery. Safety procedures are now under an urgent review. The woman was thankfully left with only minor injuries. I imagine her pride suffered much more.
