Famous Seamus
In April, BBC Radio Ulster dedicated a whole day of broadcasting to the greatest poet writing in English, our own Seamus Heaney. You can now listen again to those programmes. Well worth a visit. I had a wonderful time interviewing Heaney about his new collection, Dictrict and Circle.
Queen's University named a library after Heaney when he won the Nobel Prize in 1995; but he deserves far greater recognition in his homeland. And since Heaney is our highest-flying cultural figure, how about re-naming Belfast International Airport in his honour? After all, we now have a George Best Belfast City Airport.

I agree with you in renaming an airport after Seamus Heaney.
Why does it always have to be airports? Only good for entering and exiting a country - they have no other purpose.
Why not rename the Ulster Folk Musuem? Heaney's poetry is packed with references to rural dwellings and artefacts, as is the Museum.
It wouldn't be too hard to find poems to display in appropriate places at the musuem. Surely an ideal location for 'Heaney' events? A grotty airport, where people only wish to spend the minimum amount of time just doens't compare.
