    Hi there,

We had the same situation with the weather until today. It has began snowing today morning and now everything is covered with snow. Today on the bus I overheard a lady saying that today's snow was a gift from Jesus.
Every year people get crazy about Christmas shopping. There are crowds of people and long lines in the stores. It seems to me that everybody does shopping at the last moment.

Merry Christmas Chrystel and all members of BBC community.

    Best wishes,

    Hello Chrystel,

Is there no snow on Paris? That's very envious for me!! We have heavy snow now in Japan. I can't go out in spite of Christmas!! Because it's very very cold...
But,today,we had Christmas party at home. We ate fried chickens, salads, Christmas cake and drank champagne. It was happiness time.
And now, I wish Santa Claus's coming...

    Merry Christmas!!!
    Sincerely,
    mayu

we don't have snow in here but luckely there is no rain too.
We have a strong wind but with sun, a very strange winter.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you, to all the readers of this great site and to everyone who need help for difficult situations.
    Best regards to all

And although it is not our feast we have the same nonsense buying gifts like crazy !!!

Anyway Marry Christmas for all of you :)

    Hi Chrystel,
I would also have prefered "white" Christmas but instead of that we could say that spring came at Christmas and we also are crazy doing shopping and more shopping at Christmas time.

I wish Happy New Year for all of you

    Hi Chrystel,

Hope you had a good Christmas and enjoying your time with family. You are so right about shopping. People these days spend money crazily on food and gifts. I have heard that in the UK on average a person spend about £700 on Christmas. I think people are making these religious ceremonies and traditions more difficult by including much more extras things into their shopping list. For most people this shopping lead them to debt. In my view, these celebrations should be done more simply which will be affordable for most people.

The weather this year seems to be much milder in the UK as well. I have heard of very little snow in some areas and it didn't snow at all in my area. However, winter is still not over yet and its possible that we might have very cold weather in the last couple of months of winter, time will tell.

Wish you a happy new year

    Hello Chrystel,

I totally agree with you. 2 days after Christmas it is a crazy period as well. My whole town is full of people who exchange their gifts in the shops now. This has nothing to do with the real meaning of Christmas!

In Germany, it has also rained for the last three days. But as you say: This does not prevent people to run into the town to exchange their gifts now.

However, I wish you a happy new year!

    Hi Chrystel
Merry Christmas! It's a pity , no snowing during the Christmas in Pris! Because snowing makes the Christmas time more beautiful! However, to decorate the Christmas tree and the other things people use for celebrating, give it special beauty! Anyway, I would like to wish you and the other people here a very happy Christmas also, tell you all: " Happy New Year "!

    Best regards

    Hi Cagadhig
Christmas time is a joyful time that everyone could enjoy it even those who are not Christian! As well as I have heard, people around the world even if they are non-Christian celebrate it. For example, many Muslems in my country Iran celebrate Chrismas and enjoy it! So, I would like to tell you that, to be Muslem does not prevent you to enjoy it! I'm Muslem too , but not an extremist!
