It is no exaggeration to say John Sutherland is both well read and knows how to read well.
He is the recently retired Lord Northcliffe Professor of Modern English Literature at University College, London, and is the President of the Society of Indexers. As Sue Lawley will tell you, he has a flair for both the old and the new. He wants his readers to explore much more than his text. His latest book is called Magic Moments.
