Spring clean songs...

 
Spring cleaning? Does he mean my April shower?

I came upon a copy of the Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge whilst dusting my sideboard. Now I hate spring cleaning so, too cheer myself up, I read the instructions on how to use the CD player (it's been so long.....) and then slipped the disc into the machine.

Unfortunately, someone had managed to drip a blob of candle wax over my favourite track so I gave up on this method and looked the album up on ayechoons.

Hello Bryan, Blogotariat.....

K's CHOICE 's 'Almost happy' is the album I am rediscovering just now. Full of melancholy songs and really beautiful. One of my favorite tracks on this CD is ' Always everywhere' and with Mothers day coming soon I think it can perhaps make it on air this evening. 'Shadowman' is the song I like best on this album with Gert BETTENS (lead vocals); Now if you want something more lively and uplifting then I suggest 'Somewhere'.

You have now climbed the foothills of enthusiasm to reach the plateau of disillusion where the bloggers wait eternally for the "Get A Life" helicopter.

I am struggling a wee bit to contribute to the theme as the following status exists in my CD collection (and lp's):

All CD's and LP's are in Alpabetical order by Artisst and within that sub group by year of release. The only difficulty this gives is, for example, should Del Amitri be filed under D or A. I also worry about, for example, Justin Currie where I have to fight the temptation to file him next to Del Amitri.

Turning to the car. This has a dedicated ipod and two SD card slots. So unless I list a SD card.....

Having said all of that I managed to trap two mice in the shed this weekend:

When is Maman's Day in France?

I was cleaning out my Mum's garage recently and to my amazement found a large collection of cassettes that I'd obviously left behind when I moved out. Unfortunately the majority of them were unplayable as they had got damp. To compensate for this immense disappointment please play:

I really do not understand because just last Monday, they were making cards and other things for Mothers day at the nursery school in VEIGY FONCENEX......

Must say, I'm with the blog matriarch, our Norrie, in keeping everything pretty neatly filed, though I'm not hung up on chronological order. I almost never fling any music out.

I listen to everything on 'shuffle' and am often taken by surprise when something I haven't heard for years turns up in the car whilst driving around on business (even more surprised when something I've never heard turns up).

I can't believe it! I've been searching for years for my old copy of Harry Nilsson's Sandman but had given up hope of ever finding it!

There I was, throwing bleach onto the cobwebs under the bunker when I spied what I thought was a bit of a postcard. Taking care to wear eye protection & my trusty rubber gloves, I gently pulled out an LP sleeve and guess what????



The domestos had burned right through the vinyl.
