Dawn French's entertainment career spans thirty years. She is best known for her comedy work with Jennifer Saunders and The French and Saunders show was first broadcast in 1987. She achieved mainstream success as Geraldine Granger in The Vicar of Dibley, in a role written specially for her by Richard Curtis. She won a British Comedy Award for her performance in The Vicar of Dibley in 1997 and a BAFTA Fellowship in 2009.

In recent years she has turned to writing and developing her own clothing line. Later this year she can be seen on TV playing James Corden's mother.
