Adele is a multi-award winning singer and songwriter. She emerged in 2007, with her first UK chart hit in January 2008. She was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2008 for her debut album, 19, received a Q Awards Nomination for Best Breakthrough Act and a MOBO for Best UK Female.
Her second album, 21, was released in January 2011, hitting number one in 26 countries and is currently the biggest-selling album of the century. She won 6 Grammy Awards in 2012, and has won a Golden Globe for her title track to the Bond movie Skyfall.
