Professor Anne Glover is the first Chief Scientific Advisor to the European Commission. She provides expert advice on science, technology and innovation to policymakers and the Commission President. From 2006 to 2011 she had been the Chief Scientific Advisor for Scotland.

Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Aberdeen, her research interest is in how understanding at a molecular level the way diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's physically affect our bodies. She was awarded a CBE in 2009.
