Clare Foges is a speechwriter whose work at 10 Downing Street has earned her the title ‘the Prime Minister’s larynx’. She drove an ice-cream van in Guildford, before working in the Westminster office of John Hayes MP in 2006. Within a year she had moved on to work full-time on Boris Johnson’s mayoral campaign. She began working for David Cameron in 2008 and drafted his much anticipated speech on Europe in January 2013.

She has a Master’s degree in Poetry and has previously run a business selling her own clothing and jewellery designs.
