Sophie Turner Laing was appointed Managing Director of Content at BskyB in 2007. She has overall responsibility for Sky’s entertainment and news channels including Sky 1 and Sky News. She started her TV career at Henson International Television and co-founded HIT entertainment. She went on to spend five years the BBC, holding a number of senior roles.

In 2010 she joined BAFTA as vice president, having been a member since 2001 and a trustee on its board since 2006.
