Sani, Adithio, Tommaso and Signe describe how they chose a subject specifically for a young audience.
Why did you pick this subject for Fresh?
To show how a person with a skin disease copes with life in London. It relates to the BBC Three audience, as our subject is about a young Londoner dealing with a personal difficulty on a day-to-day basis.
Your film has to be interesting to you whilst appealing to the target audience
What motivated you to make this film?
It initially started as a university project, and then we came across the Fresh application and wanted to cater towards the theme for Fresh.
What equipment did you use to shoot the film?
Sony PMW200 & PMW100, Cannon 6D & 7D
Tell us about post-production.
We all edited as a group using Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools.Darius provided us with the soundtrack.
Who/what inspires you?
Creating a change in new media and how media portrays subjects inspires us. Our course tutor Tony Dowmunt inspires us to be better filmmakers.
What are your plans for the future?
We will all continue to make films, specifically documentaries and hopefully get our films out in the public.
What is the most important thing you have learned so far?
The subject you choose to make your film about has to be interesting to you whilst appealing to the targeted audience, so you can bring the best out of it. Be open to everyone’s ideas and thoughts!
