Volume One's BBC Music Introducing Session

IN THEIR OWN WORDS:

Unkle Monty (now Volume One) formed in March 2007, and after four months, we were out showcasing our look, sound and energy.

Now with an established presence and wealth of gigs under our belt, along with a packed set of powerful, anthemic, rock solid tracks, we are totally digging our music, fans, gigs, and the rock'n'roll life.

All of us have got loads of music ex's, as you would expect, and have built our 'supergroup' to what we feel has the best of all worlds.... good attitude, good skills, good experience and wicked friendship.

We have released, in May 2008, a bag of new material.

The EP is called When Clearwater Flows -the tracks are: Wanderlust - Falling down - Leaving them behind - Clearwater.

The EP was produced by Bob Lamb in Birmingham, who produced UB40's first album, and toured with The Who in the '70s.

We made the final five, out of over 600 entries, to win the chance to support Bon Jovi at the Ricoh arena, Coventry in June 2008.

We came 2nd in the live final - close but no cigar!

Influences include pretty much everything, so in no particular order: Incubus, Foo Fighters, Reef, Stereophonics, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Lost Prophets, Portishead, Radio Head, Muse, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Pink Floyd, Keane, Drive By Truckers, Massive Attack, Supergrass, The Blackout, The Sweet, Fleetwood Mac, Government Mule, Hendrix, The Clash, Alman Brothers, Blondie, Kinks, Stones, Beatles plus many more....

"I popped up to check out probably the best stage and sound system in Worcestershire at the Tardebigge in Redditch. What used to be Volume One are now Unkle Monty, and it's hard not to think of James Dean Bradfield when the frontman pitches his curveball notes at you. There's plenty of variety, though, and a searing bassline from the Midland boogie-boys, and if you're a Free or LedZep throwback (like me for example) then you'll be well pleased with the not-too-heavy - heavy set"
