Festivals

It's a decade since this event began - and this year there's music on various stages throughout the town, in the shopping centres and at the Norbury Theatre.
In former years, this has also coincided with the Droitwich Water Festival.
This is the 10th anniversary of the event - and it appears that Droitwich runs for longer than any of our other festivals in Herefordshire & Worcestershire!
In Session

For the last year-and-a-half, they've been touring around the open mic nights in Worcestershire.
But they also supported One Direction, Girls Aloud and Westlife at the LG Arena!

Meet The Musicians

BBC Introducing in Hereford & Worcester supports unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar musicians from our area.
Since 2011, we've been taking the show out on-the-road showcasing the very best musicians from our two counties.
Once
a month, we've been recording acts chosen by us at a variety of venues
across the area - including at some of our biggest festivals.
Our
next recording session takes place next Sunday 28 July at Nozstock: The
Hidden Valley at Rowden Paddocks near Bromyard and features the five
acts we plan to broadcast throughout August.
Acts we've chosen
to appear at the festival are Bekki Cameron (Much Dewchurch), Puffin
Ethics (Hereford), Georgina Upton (Kidderminster), Scarlette (Redditch)
and Goldman (Whitchurch nr Ross-on-Wye).
None of these acts knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded here - which led them to receiving airplay on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
Meanwhile, if you're a venue or promoter, and would like to be featured in a future recording session please get in touch.

Nozstock

This year DJ Yoda, Mr Scruff and Sonny Wharton will be on the garden stage.
We've sent our man Andy O'Hare along to sample the sights and sounds - and he'll be reporting back his findings from Rowden Paddocks on this week's show!
A history of big gigs and musical legends from our area
Blues Baby!

This is the predicament Garret Felton from Bidford found himself in.
We'll hear from him on this week's show!

Upton Festival preview

This year, there's two stages featuring big names like Slade, Pershore's Toyah Willcox, Bad Manners, The Troggs, Bucks Fizz, Dr Feelgood, Chesney Hawkes and The Wurzels.
They've also got the X-Factor stars confirmed along with a selection of local talent.
It's on the riverside at Fish Meadow and offers camping facilities.
On The Record

Jim Lowe's On The Record documents what life's like on the road for our local industry professionals.
This week, we hear from star of stage and screen - Nick J Townsend of Weak 13.
He's a man with half a head of long hair, the other half bald, half a beard - you get the picture...
He decided to be 'different' after being labelled that by bullies at school but has now made a very successful career from 'being alternative'.
