Newly qualified garden designers Nicole Fischer and Daniel Auderset are bravely taking on the challenge of their first ever show garden, at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014. The Extending Space is a conceptual garden design which is inspired by the diverse landscapes of the protected Pfyn Forest region in the Swiss Valais.

Nicole Fischer and Daniel Auderset are German and Swiss respectively, they met while studying Garden Design at Inchbald School of Design. The two graduated in 2013, and now run their garden design businesses in both the UK and Europe.

The Pfyn Forest National Park is not only one of Europe’s last remaining large pine forests but also home to one of the most significant and diverse meadowlands in Switzerland. Climate change has seen a decline in pine trees in this region. The garden highlights the variety and beauty of the species. The planting is contemporary but naturalistic.
