Domestic abuse: Information and Support

If you, or someone you know, have been affected by domestic abuse or violence, the following organisations may be able to help. If you are in immediate danger, you should dial 999.

The National Domestic Violence Helpline

The 24 hour National Domestic Violence Helpline, run in partnership between Women's Aid and Refuge is for women experiencing domestic violence, their family, friends and others calling on their behalf.

National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Domestic Violence helpline

National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Domestic Violence helpline run by Gallop, provides support to LGBT people suffering domestic abuse.

CALM, the campaign against living miserably aims to prevent male suicide in the Uk and offers anonymous, confidential listening, information and signposting.

Community Advice & Listening Line

Community Advice & Listening Line offers emotional support and information on mental health and related matters to people in Wales.

Breathing Space

Breathing Space offers a confidential phone and web based service for people in Scotland experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide exists to meet the needs and break the isolation of those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend.

Sexual abuse: Information and Support

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood

The National Association for People Abused in Childhood offers support, advice and guidance to adult survivors of any form of childhood abuse.

The National Rape Crisis Helpline

The National Rape Crisis Helpline offers confidential support and information to women in England and Wales who have survived any form of sexual violence, no matter how long ago. Also provides immediate support to friends and family on how to support female survivors of sexual violence.

The Survivors Trust provides support and signposting for women, men and children who are survivors of rape, sexual violence or childhood sexual abuse.

Rape Crisis Scotland

Rape Crisis Scotland provides confidential support for anyone affected by sexual violence, no matter when or how it happened. They can also put you in touch with local rape crisis centres.

The Rowan provides a range of support and services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to children, young people, women and men who have been sexually abused, assaulted or raped, whether this happened in the past or more recently.
