About Celtic Connections
Now in its 22nd year, Celtic Connections is very much a landmark in the Scottish musical calendar. For 18 days in January you can look out for a wealth of concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, free events and late night sessions that will take place at a staggering 24 venues across Glasgow, featuring musicians from all over the world.
Europe’s biggest winter music festival nowadays hosts musical styles, flavours and talent from around the globe, with international artists sharing billings, and sometimes stages, with some of the best of the vibrant Scottish music scene.
Audiences brave the cold winter nights to turn out in their droves, taking in everything from Grammy Award-winning Americana artists like Rodney Crowell and Patty Griffin, to home-grown Scottish folk stars like The Treacherous Orchestra and Lau, as well as luminaries from the English scene like Martin Carthy and Seth Lakeman.
