When we heard Grimmers talking on The Breakfast Show about Zayn's new collab with mega fashion house Versace we had totally mixed feelings. One one hand, clothes designed by Zayn? THE DREAM. On the other, WE ARE SO POOR.
Wah.
But it did get us to thinkin', Zayn's come a massively long way since being dubbed 'the bad boy of Bradford'. So we took a little gander at his journey to global popstar, boyfriend of the world's biggest Supermodel and Donatella's latest muse...
2010: The X Factor...
Zayn’s mum got him out of bed to audition for a little show called The X Factor, where he sings Mario’s Let Me Love You. After fighting with Simon Cowell over the dance auditions and being dropped from the solo acts, he was picked for boy band, One Direction. The band finished third in the competition with Zayn telling Dermot O’Leary that ‘this isn’t the last of One Direction’.
Word.

Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louis and Liam sign a £2million deal with SyCo, Simon Cowell's record label in February and, later in the year, What Makes You Beautiful reaches number one in the UK and the US goes wild for them.
Duh.
2012: Zayn and Perrie sittin' in a tree...
Zayn starts dating Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards after meeting backstage at X Factor when the girls were contestants and One Direction were singing as guests. Shippers everywhere freak. Us included.
2013: Zerrie get engaged
Zayn pops the big question to Perrie in December and they announce their engagement the premiere of One Direction's This Is Us movie.

2015 - March: Zayn says 'See Ya' to 1D...
Zayn announces he’s leaving One Direction to live like a ‘normal 22-year old'. He’s then seen at a recording studio with producer Naughty Boy sparking rumours that he’s working on solo stuff.
He said in a press release via the band's official Facebook page, at the time: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."
2015 - May: Zayn and Louis go head to head
Following Zayn's bounce from the band, Louis fires some hate over Twitter and Zayn is not happy about it.
2015: July: Welcome to solo city...
He signs a solo record deal with RCA Records and 1D fans are crushed. Its official, no going back.
2015 - August: RIP Zerrie...
Zayn and Perrie head for Splitsville, with reports flying around that Zayn dumped her by text! He later denied this but Perrie has never spoken out about the exact details.
Yikes!
2015 - November: Zayn starts dating Supermodel Gigi Hadid
Just months after his split from Pez, Zayn meets Gigi Hadid at Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday party. The pair start dating and Zigi is born.
2016 - January: Zayn's Pillowtalk...
Zayn releases his debut single, Pillowtalk, which flies into number 1 in UK and the USA. New GF Gigi is the star of the very steamy video...
2016 - June: RIP Zigi?
Gigi and Zayn appear to call it quits but days later it's all back on. Very mysterious...
