Join BBC Radio 3 and Wellcome Collection to explore music and memory with a special weekend of live broadcasts, concerts and free events.
Through discussions and live performances, and with the help of acclaimed musicians, scientists and experts, Why Music? The Key to Memory explores music’s unique capacity to be remembered, from the power of song in helping people with dementias to the ability of conductors to learn complex musical scores.
The weekend features a host of special guests and performers including actor Simon Russell Beale, singer Lesley Garrett and world renowned pianist Igor Levit.
