The double Grammy and double Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe winner AR Rahman performed his greatest hits at The O2, London on the 15th August. He was joined by very special guests including Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, Karthik, Haricharan, Jonita Gandhi and Hriday Gattani.

1. His birth name was AS Dilip Kumar, but he later changed it to AR Rahman (Allarakha).

2. He's the only Indian to win a double Grammy, double Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe.

3. His father RK Sekhar is a famous music director in the Malayalam Film Industry.

4. AR Rahman wasn’t always passionate about music and dreamt of becoming an electronics or computer engineer.

5. He studied at the Trinity College of Music at Oxford University.

6. His Oscar winning song 'Jai Ho' from Slumdog Millionaire was initially composed for the film Yuvvaraj.

7. In the Limca Book of Records 2007, Rahman holds the 'Indian of the Year for Contribution to Popular Music' Award.

8. As of 2014, he's won 4 National Awards, 15 Filmfare Awards and 14 Filmfare Awards South. Out of 138 award nominations, he's won an impressive 117.

9. He's the first Asian to have won 2 Oscars in the same year.
