How do I make a complaint about EastEnders?

Any complaints about the BBC should be submitted via the BBC Complaints website.

Will I meet the cast if I wait outside the studio gates?

For many reasons our cast are asked to not stop their cars when entering/leaving the BBC to meet fans. We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause if you travel to Elstree in the hope of meeting the cast.

Can I send my favourite actor a gift?

It's EastEnders' policy that actors do not keep gifts sent to them by fans, so please don't send presents. The cast often receive letters containing chocolate or CDs, but these have to be sent back.

How do I get signed photos of the cast?

You can obtain signed photographs by writing individual letters to each actor who you’d like signed photographs of (you can put them all in one envelope to save on postage) and we will pass them on. Please note that the actors are responsible for answering their own fan mail and at busy times it may take them a while to respond to the huge volume of letters they receive.

The address to send the letters to is:

BBC Elstree Centre
Clarendon Road
Herts
WD6 1JF

There is no charge for signed photographs.

Please note that once an actor has left the programme, we can only forward mail for a period of six months. After that, all requests should be sent to actors' agents.

Is it possible to auction a visit to the EastEnders set and/or a background role on the programme?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visits, tours or roles on the programme as prizes.

Which cast members are on Twitter?

Please be wary of engaging in conversation with people who claim to be official cast members of the show through social media forums. Many social media profiles claim to belong to EastEnders and E20 actors. However, only a small number of our current cast are currently active on Twitter. Current cast are all verified. You can find a list of current characters who are on Twitter here.

Can I watch episodes of EastEnders online?

Can I get a part on EastEnders?

The show only uses professional actors.

Can I send in storyline ideas for the show?

EastEnders does not accept storyline ideas for the programme. Only the regular team of writers and script editors on the programme work on EastEnders storylines.

Can I have a tour of the set?

Due to a very heavy filming schedule, EastEnders doesn't offer tours of the set.

Can I chat to cast members online?

There are a number of websites which claim to belong to EastEnders actors and characters. They are not genuine. Do not believe that you are chatting to cast members. However, some of our cast are on Twitter. See the question about Twitter above.

We do however hold 'live chats' with some of our cast via Facebook and Twitter. Keep an eye on our social profiles for details of our next chat.

Can I get old copies of EastEnders episodes?

Copies of individual past episodes aren't available to buy on DVD, but you can watch archive clips on BBC Worldwide's YouTube account.

How can I get items for charity, or ask an actor to appear at a charity event?

Due to the huge volume of requests for donations, we cannot provide EastEnders memorabilia. For requests concerning appearances by cast members, please write to them individually at the address above.

Where can I buy EastEnders merchandise?

You can buy special EastEnders DVDs and books from a variety of retailers.

How can I find out about costumes or props used in the programme?

We can’t advise on the origin of individual items. Most costumes and props are bought from regular high street stores, made especially for the programme, or hired from the BBC costume and prop stores.
