On Tour in Mumbai
Joining Nikki in the studio is film actress, Bhumi Pednekar
The Arts Hour in Tour comes from Mumbai, India where Nikki Bedi is on stage at the Royal Opera House in the heart of the city.
Nikki’s star guests include the Hindi film star everyone’s talking about Bhumi Pednekar and formidable film critic Anupama Chopra to discuss ground-breaking trends in Indian cinema this year. Recent film releases have focused on the need for toilets in villages, the sexual desire of women, and - in the Oscar nominated Newton - electoral reform in rural areas.
Performance poet Shamir Reuben and stand-up comedian Anuvab Pal perform and explore the rapid rise of spoken word in Mumbai. And there’s live music from new-wave alt-rock group The Anand Bhaskar Collective and the hot new pop duo Parek and Singh.
