People-To-People Links: bbcvietnamese.com photo competition celebrates UK-Vietnam relations

To mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UK and Vietnam, BBC Vietnamese and the British Embassy in Hanoi are launching a photo essay competition, The UK and Vietnam: People-To-People Llinks.

Users of the website bbcvietnamese.com, resident in Vietnam and the United Kingdom, are invited to submit photo essays of at least of five pictures taken by them, demonstrating links between Great Britain and Vietnam.

Subjects could include environmental, social or cultural issues, education, including learning English, or sports.

Users of bbcvietnamese.com are invited to send their entries, with captions explaining how they fit the theme, to vietnamese@bbc.co.uk between Saturday 19 July and Friday 22 August 2008.

Selected entries will be uploaded to bbcvietnamese.com.

A panel of judges including the BBC Vietnamese Online Editor, BBC News Online Photo Editor and a representative of the UK Embassy in Hanoi, will select the best pictures for three awards: a laptop (1st prize) and digital cameras (2nd and 3rd prizes).

The winning images and other photos from the competition will also be shown at an exhibition in Hanoi this September to celebrate UK-Vietnamese relations.

For competition rules, go to bbcvietnamese.com.
