BBC East announces winners of first BBC East Sports Awards

BBC East Sports Awards celebrated the finest in sporting achievement over the past year and was attended by both professional and amateur sportsmen and women from across the BBC East region.
The ceremony celebrated 10 different categories and was held at the American Air Museum, Duxford on Monday evening (12 November).
The final award of the evening was the BBC East Sports Personality of the Year. The award went to Lewis Hamilton.
The BBC East Unsung Hero was awarded to Paul Webb. Paul will now go forward in the star-studded BBC Sports Personality Of The Year programme, where an overall winner will be named.
The award ceremony was broadcast live on BBC Local Radio in the Region presented by Paul Stainton of BBC Three Counties Radio.
Highlights of the event hosted by Stewart White will be shown on BBC Look East.
