BBC marks 50th night since Alan Johnston's abduction in Gaza
An image of BBC Gaza Correspondent Alan Johnston was projected onto BBC Television Centre in London last night to mark the 50th night since his abduction in Gaza.
Fifty balloons were also released earlier in the day by Helen Boaden, Director of BBC News.
More than 65,000 BBC News website users have written to the BBC to demand the release of Alan Johnston.
Alan disappeared on 12 March and is feared kidnapped, though there has been no confirmed word on his whereabouts or his condition.
There has been a worldwide response to the online petition, which was opened on Monday 2 April and coincided with a full page appeal in the UK's Guardian newspaper.
