22,000 new listeners tune in to Radio Oxford

The latest audience figures from Rajar show that BBC Radio Oxford has gained 22,000 new listeners and increased its reach across the region.

Delighted with the news, Steve Taschini, Executive Editor, Radio Oxford, commented: "Hot on the heels of great TV audience figures, the latest Rajar results show we've achieved our third ever highest result in terms of reach across the region.

"This is a great result which builds on the excellent progress we've made in the last 12 months, and a solid platform for more growth."

Notes to Editors

Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd) independently compiles radio audience statistics every quarter, providing an industry benchmark for both BBC and commercial stations.

The third quarter report for 2006 indicates that over the course of the year BBC Radio Oxford has increased its audience share by 1.4% and average weekly reach has grown by 4.3%.

BBC Radio Oxford broadcasts on 95.2 FM and also online at bbc.co.uk/radiooxford.
