Statement: Jimmy Tarbuck and Strictly Come Dancing

The BBC today issued a statement about Jimmy Tarbuck and BBC ONE's Strictly Come Dancing:
Regretfully, Jimmy Tarbuck will no longer be taking part in the rest of
Strictly Come Dancing due to health reasons. Following a doctor's assessment
this week, Jimmy, the doctors and the BBC have come to the decision that for
the good of Jimmy's health he should no longer take part.
Jimmy Tarbuck said: "I'm absolutely devastated that I can no longer take part
in Strictly Come Dancing. I really wanted to dance on the show this week but I
have to take the advice of the doctors who have told me I need to rest.
"I
would like to thank my wonderful partner Flavia who has taught me so much and
been patient in trying to turn this old carthorse into a proper dancer! I will
really miss training with her.
"I will continue to enjoy watching the show and
will be there in person on Saturday to see how my fellow contestants are
shaping up now their hottest competition is out of the way!"
The remaining 11 contestants will battle it out to stay in the competition this
week but there will be an exciting twist to the competition to look out for.
