BBC Radio Oxford has gained 20,000 extra listeners over the last year and now
has an average weekly audien-ce of 100,000 according to figures released today.
The figures are from Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd), an independent survey
system which tracks radio listening for both BBC and commercial stations.
The
period measured was from January to June 2006.
Steve Taschini, Executive Editor at BBC Oxford 95.2 FM, says: "I'm delighted.
These figures demonstrate that the station is connecting well with both
traditional and new audiences in the county at a time when competition is
increasing."
