BBC Television's coverage of Royal Ascot will be one of the highlights of its racing year with all five days being broadcast live.

This year the meeting returns to a redeveloped Ascot sporting a new, impressive Grandstand and track.

The front of camera team will be led by Clare Balding and Willie Carson.

Expert assistance comes in the form of race commentator Jim McGrath and reporters Angus Loughran, Ray Cochrane and Ian Bartlett.

Reporting from around the course is racing journalist Rishi Persad and presenter Kate Silverton who will be bringing viewers all the colour, fashion and behind the scenes action that makes Royal Ascot such a unique event.

Amongst the fashion experts will be style writer James Sherwood and Jodie Kidd.

Also taking part in the fashion stakes will be celebrity and racing guests Jamie and Louise Redknapp, 2005 Joint Champion Apprentice Jockey, Hayley Turner and daughter of Newmarket trainer Luca Cumani, Francesca Cumani.

In a joint operation BBC Sport and BBC Breakfast will be providing viewers with regular, live early morning features, previews and weather reports.

The Royal Ascot features will broadcast every morning at 6.50, 7.50a and 8.50awith weather updates every 15 minutes starting at 6.00am.

Twenty-four races will be broadcast live from the meeting this year, the first five on the card from Tuesday to Friday and the first four on Saturday.

To add to viewers' enjoyment of the racing, popular innovation 'favourite cam' will once again be available to track the market leader.

Also making an appearance, and providing spectacular views of the new Ascot building, will be 'wire-cam'.

Suspended between two 30 metre-high towers, 'wire-cam' provides a 600 metre tracking distance and can accelerate at a maximum speed of 3.25 metres per second.

Coverage begins on BBC ONE at 1.40pm each day.

Visitors to bbc.co.uk/racing will have access to streaming of the terrestrial coverage live on the web, as well as reports, photo galleries and full results of all the action.

As Royal Ascot returns to its unique setting in the Berkshire countryside, John Inverdale is BBC Radio Five Live's host for the opening day, bringing listeners the stories, atmosphere and top class racing traditionally associated with this very special meeting.

Five Live's Sony Award-winning racing team - led by correspondent Cornelius Lysaght and commentator John Hunt - will bring coverage of all the main races each day with former jockey Jason Weaver giving the expert insider's view.

And on Saturday Ascot shares the billing with World Cup football - presenter Arlo White will be based in the parade ring giving you first news of all the runners and riders for the main races that afternoon.

Luke Harvey will preview the action in the Five Live Breakfast programme at 6.55 and 8.30 every morning with Sport on Five reviewing all the day's racing in their programme from 7.00pm.
