Uma Thurman on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross

I never liked my looks, Uma Thurman tells Jonathan Ross

Leggy Hollywood star, Oscar-nominated Uma Thurman returns to the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross sofa on BBC ONE after an absence of two years on the night her new movie Prime opens in the UK.

The actress reveals tonight she's never been comfortable with her body: "I was always physically insecure . big feet, too tall, not co-ordinated or together."

And that it took working with her favourite director Quentin Tarantino to make her feel good about herself.

"They rebuilt me, I ended up feeling so much more confident about myself," she says.

She also talks about going back in to therapy: "'Yes, I've started it up again, it makes me feel less guilty about boring my friends>"

And about her new relationship: "'I was having a nervous breakdown and one nice man walked up to me, and I thought, I'll stay here."

Jonathan also welcomes to the show the unpredictable and enigmatic stand-up turned Big Brother's Big Mouth, E4 and MTV presenter Russell Brand and one of the UK's best-loved theatrical knights Sir Ian McKellen, about to star in both The Da Vinci Code and X-Men 3.

And there's music from Graham Coxon.

Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, 10.35pm, 12 May 2006, BBC ONE
