BBC Oxford 95.2FM is organising Oxfordshire's biggest-ever simultaneous Christmas carol service.

The Big Christmas Carol will take place on Thursday 15 December at 7.30pm.

BBC Oxford 95.2FM will be broadcasting the live carol service and people can gather at designated venues all around the county, including shopping centres and even a donkey sanctuary, or sing along to the event from the comfort of their own sitting rooms.

Listeners can download the order of service from bbc.co.uk/oxford so that the whole of Oxfordshire can come together for Christmas.

As well as a traditional carol service there will also be a few surprises.

Joining the service as guest readers are BBC ONE Songs of Praise presenters Jonathan Edwards and Diane-Louise Jordan.

Sister Frances Dominica, the founder of Helen and Douglas House Hospices in Oxford, and Zoe Mace, Oxfordshire's young singing sensation, will also give readings.

Abingdon's Dunmore School Choir, who won BBC Oxford 95.2FM's Big Song competition last year, have written a brand new Christmas song which will be premiered on the night too.

So wrap up warm, or settle on your sofa with a cup of tea and a mince pie and help BBC Oxford 95.2FM in their bid to break all records, as they connect the county in Oxfordshire's biggest ever live Christmas event.

Notes to Editors
