Viewers can vote for their 2005 TV Moments

Presented by Jonathan Ross, the new and improved 2005 TV Moments returns to BBC ONE at the end of the year.

 

For the first time in the show's history, all the winners are to be voted for solely by the television viewing public.

 

By logging on to bbc.co.uk/tvmoments from Monday 24 October, viewers will able to vote for their favourite television moments of the past ten months.

 

And from Monday 21 November, viewers will be able to start voting for November through to December programmes.

 

From comedy to sport, and from entertainment to news, this annual retrospective celebrates those small screen moments which have become the talking point of an entire nation.

 

There are six categories in all and viewers will be given four TV Moments to choose between in each.

 

The categories are: January- February; March-April; May-June; July-August; September-October; and November-December.

 

Viewers will also be given the choice of voting for their ultimate Golden TV Moment for the past year.

January-February

 

11 January, Channel 4 - Celebrity Big Brother - John McCruick's Diet Coke rant

17 January, BBC TWO -Tribe - Bruce Parry has his penis inverted as part of an initiation ceremony

24 February, BBC TWO - Dad - a look at the discomfort of growing old, the burden of having parents staying in one's house, and the diminishing dignity from one generation to the next

23 January, ITV 1 - Coronation Street - Charlie rips out Shelley's earrings.

 

March-April

 

31 March, BBC News - Prince Charles calls reporters "those bloody people" and rounds on Nicholas Witchell during a photocall. What he doesn't realise is that he can be overheard

16 March, Channel 4 - Jamie's School Dinners - Jamie Oliver shows a group of horrified school children just what goes into their beloved Turkey Twizzlers

14 April, ITV 1 - Footballers' Wives - the christening

11 March, BBC ONE - Comic Relief 05 - Catherine Tate as Lauren with McFly: "are you calling my dad a pikey?"

 

May-June

 

10 May, ITV 1 - Deep Jungle - the moth which has been predicted more than 100 years ago by Darwin but never been caught on camera

25 May, ITV 1 - Champions League Final - Liverpool win on penalties after going down 3-0

21 June, ITV 1 - Emmerdale - Zoe injects Scott

June, BBC ONE - Doctor Who - the kiss between Rose and The Doctor in The Parting of the Ways.

 

July-August

 

2 July, BBC ONE - Live 8 - Bob Geldof is joined on stage by a grown up Birhan Woldu. Birhan became the human face of the tragedy of the famines in North Africa when images of her as a small child only hours from death were screened during the Live Aid concerts

11 August, BBC TWO - Extras with Les Dennis - "do the Mavis impression"

07 August, Channel 4 - Cricket - 2nd Test moment

08 July, BBC TWO - Elephant Diaries - elephant football with the baby elephants, keepers and Michaela Strachan. Altogether now, awww...

 

September-October
