BBC World Service programme World Business Review, a weekly discussion programme produced by the World Service business unit, has won a Wincott award, one of the most prestigious awards in business journalism.

World Business Review won Radio Programme of the Year (2004). The topic of the winning programme was Microsoft's legal battles with the EU.

The judges described it as an absorbing discussion. It was presented by Lesley Curwen and produced by Sarah Gibson.

The Wincott Awards for Broadcasting are given to programmes which are judged to have done most to encourage a wider public understanding of economic, financial and business issues, stories and concepts - both national and international.

The Best Radio Programme award is given to the best radio programme, or series of programmes, which meets the award's objectives.
