Spooks, psychics, sorcery and body-snatchers will all come under the microscope during a special week focussing on the weirder side of West Yorkshire on BBC Radio Leeds.

Presenters from the station plan to ghost hunt in Ossett, go UFO spotting on Ilkley Moor and take part in a spooky guided walk around Leeds during the week starting Monday April 11.

Managing Editor, John Ryan, said the team would present their findings throughout all programmes during the week.

He said: "There are all sorts of myths and legends in our part of the county, from sightings of Big Cats to aliens and spectres.

"Our aim is to take our presenters, researchers and microphones to the hot spots and investigate the reality behind the stories.

"I'm sure all our listeners will be fascinated by the findings."

As well as going to the most popular sighting spots, special guests in the studio will include a UFO specialist from the Ministry of Defence, a medium and a paranormal researcher.

There will be packages on the fairies of Cottingley, specialist sorcery shops and a horoscope phone-in.

Listeners are encouraged to listen to Radio Leeds on 92.4 FM, 774 AM and Digital Radio throughout the week.
