On Red Nose Day this Friday (11 March), BBC Radio Bristol is 'going large'... with Eddie Large.

The comedian, who lives near the city, is to be guest presenter on The Morning Show (10.00am-noon) in aid of Comic Relief.

Throughout the show Eddie promises some celebrity surprises, calls from listeners and, of course, plenty of jokes to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Eddie says: "BBC Radio Bristol has parachuted me in to add a bit of showbiz razzamatazz to Comic Relief so do not miss this landmark in radio broadcasting!"

Producer Jenny Walmsley adds: "We are delighted that Eddie has agreed to give up his time to support Comic Relief in this way. It promises to be a lot of fun."

The show will also include extracts from Radio Bristol's Comic Relief Cabaret staged last week before an audience of 250 at the Fry Club in Keynsham, which raised nearly £1,400 for the charity.

It starred top comedian Adrian Walsh and featured a variety of local performers.

Radio Bristol's Steve Yabsley, who compered the cabaret, will be taking part in Eddie's Red Nose Day programme on Friday morning.

Notes to Editors

There will be a photo opportunity for the press with Eddie in the studio tomorrow (Thursday 10 March) at 2.00pm at BBC Bristol, Whiteladies Road, Bristol.
