New BBC complaints procedure goes live

Category: BBC

An emphasis on greater transparency, objectivity and accountability underpins the BBC's new procedure for handling editorial complaints, which goes live today.

First announced in July last year, the streamlined procedure is designed to make it easier for the public to make a complaint and obtain, where appropriate, a speedy correction.

A new Code of Practice has been published on a dedicated website - bbc.co.uk/complaints - to ensure the public know what to expect when they make a complaint.

The website will report on the volume and range of complaints we've received and, where relevant, our responses and details of clarifications, corrections and remedial actions taken.
