Two Golden Globes for The Life and Death of Peter Sellers



The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers, a BBC Film co-produced with HBO, was last night named the best motion picture made for television at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

 

In a double triumph Geoffrey Rush also won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of the eponymous hero.

 

The Life And Death of Peter Sellers also stars Charlize Theron, John Lithgow, Miriam Margolyes, Stephen Fry, Stanley Tucci, Emily Watson and was directed by Stephen Hopkins.

 

It was released in the UK last October and was an Official Selection in Competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2004.

 

Amongst the night's other winners was Jason Bateman, star of the US comedy Arrested Development, which will return to BBC TWO and BBC FOUR in February.

 

His role in the programme won him the award for best actor in a comedy series.
