HARDtalk with Jocelyn Hay, Voice of the Listener and Viewer

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Thursday 15 January) Tim Sebastian talks to Jocelyn Hay.

The Government has made significant changes to the regulation of the broadcasting industry with the introduction of the super-regulator, Ofcom.

It's been a busy first few weeks for the new regulator, which is in the middle of its first review of UK public service broadcasting.

Watching the watchdog is Jocelyn Hay, chair of the high profile consumer group Voice of the Listener and Viewer.

She warns that British values on television will be eroded with the relaxation of laws governing foreign ownership.

Tim Sebastian asks her what action she wants taken to stop the dumbing down of Britain's most influential cultural asset.

HARDtalk is on BBC News 24 at 11.30pm.

All the BBC's digital services are now available on Freeview, the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.

Freeview offers the BBC's eight television channels, interactive services from BBCi, as well as 11 national BBC radio networks.
