Stan and Anthea to stand in for BBC WM's Ed Doolan

Former footballer Stan Collymore and television personality Anthea Turner are just two of the guest presenters who'll be stepping in to Ed Doolan's shoes on BBC WM as he takes a holiday.

On Monday 12 January Cannock born Stan Collymore - now a regular on Radio Five Live's soccer commentaries - takes the hot seat between 10.00am and 1.00pm.

Stan began his football career at Walsall Football Club before moving on to Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Real Oviedo.

He says: "I'm really looking forward to presenting Ed's show on BBC WM.

"It's the most popular morning show in the Midlands, so it's a great honour to be standing in for him."

Anthea Turner returns to her native Midlands to host the show on Friday 16 January.

Anthea, from Stoke, began her television career on Blue Peter before presenting GMTV, Wish You Were Here and the BBC's National Lottery Live programme.

Recently she has concentrated her efforts around fundraising for various organisations.

On Tuesday 13 January it's the turn of BBC Midlands Today's Suzanne Virdee, with Trish Adudu on Wednesday (14 January).

Trish is an accomplished broadcaster and journalist, with credits including Loose Women and Channel 5 News.

Dave Nellist fronts the show on Thursday (15 January). A former Labour MP he is now a Socialist Alliance candidate for Coventry North East.

The Ed Doolan show, weekdays, 10.00am to 1.00pm, BBC WM.
