The
BBC is to move its mid-afternoon national and regional news bulletin
from BBC TWO to BBC ONE, starting next Monday (7 July) at 3.20pm.
The
move follows the recent shift of the BBC's English Regions current
affairs and political programmes onto BBC ONE.
It
completes the transfer of all English Regional programming onto
the BBC's main channel.
It
also means that digital viewers on all platforms will now be able
to access all BBC regional programmes on BBC ONE across England,
and on both BBC ONE and BBC TWO in Scotland, Wales and Northern
Ireland.
All the
BBC's digital services are now available on Freeview,
the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well
as on satellite and cable.
Freeview
offers the BBC's eight television channels, interactive services
from BBCi, as well as 11 BBC radio networks.
