Ceri casts her eye on Pembrokeshire

BBC Radio Wales has appointed Ceri Jackson its new reporter for the Pembrokeshire area.

Ceri, the daughter of Daily Mail rugby writer Peter Jackson, has been with BBC Wales since 1998, most recently in the new media department, helping to establish News Online, the Wales arm of the BBCi, BBC's global internet operation.

Her new responsibilities will include reporting for the Radio Wales flagship news programmes, Good Morning Wales and Good Evening Wales.

Originally from Cardiff, Ceri began her career as a trainee reporter on the Hendon Times Group of Newspapers in north London before moving to Bella magazine - the highest-selling women’s weekly in the UK at the time.

Later, she switched to Associated Newspapers as a featured writer for the Daily Mail with assignments all over the world.

Ceri says, "Pembrokeshire is an important area for BBC Wales. I'm looking forward to highlighting all the local issues and news stories on our services."

Editor of Radio Wales News, Geoff Williams, added, "This underlines my deep rooted commitment to the Pembrokeshire area. It's crucial that the county continues to enjoy a national profile."
