
 New
Head of Regulatory Legal at the BBC
Mark
Burgess has been appointed as the new Head of Regulatory Legal at
the BBC.
Mark,
who was previously Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and the
Company Secretary of O2(UK), the mobile communications group, has
extensive regulatory experience in the telecoms field.
He
will be dealing with the many regulatory challenges and opportunities
that the BBC and broadcasting offers.
Nicholas Eldred, BBC General Counsel, said: "I am delighted
that Mark has joined the BBC legal team.
"He
is a talented, pragmatic lawyer who brings with him a wide range
of regulatory and legal experience.
"The
broadcasting industry is undergoing significant change and Mark
is well equipped to assist the BBC to achieve its objectives."
Mark
took up the role last month.
