BBC History Magazine, Britain's best-selling history title, is set to launch in Spain following a licensing deal between BBC Worldwide and Ediciones Nobel. The title, to be published as 'BBC Historia' magazine will go on sale on Friday 26 March 2010, priced €3.90.
BBC History Magazine brings history to life with informative, lively and entertaining features written by the world's leading historians and journalists. From Ancient Egypt to Tudor England and the Second World War, BBC History Magazine delivers new and thought provoking historical research alongside fascinating tales to captivate anyone who is interest in the past.
The launch marks the first partnership between Ediciones Nobel and BBC Magazines, and the second international licensing deal for the title. BBC Historia will be edited by Ignacio Cabal and will have an initial print run of 60,000.

BBC Historia editor, Ignacio Cabal said: “BBC Historia will have 60% UK content and 40% Spanish content. It will highlight the best international features from BBC History Magazine, all of which will be written by prestigious historians and journalists from the UK. Global features will be written by famous Spanish and Latin-American historians, professors and writers, all of which will have a focus on Hispanic areas. History is extremely popular amongst Spanish readers, and we are confident that the outstanding content of BBC Historia will make it a resounding success.”
The launch issue will include features on the Second Spanish Republic, Henry VIII's women and Tutankhamun.
