Captain Beany goes to Cannes with BBC Worldwide

BBC Library Sales, a division of BBC Worldwide, is breaking new ground at Mipcom this year with an innovative and diverse range of programming.

Great British Eccentrics (12 x 5 mins) celebrates a Britain long famous for its colourful and unique citizens. This series of short films examines 12 of Britain's modern day eccentrics, including Arthur Reeder, postbox collector; Alan "Nasty" Nash, chicken whisperer and toe wrestler; and Captain Beany, worshipper of the British baked bean.

Blue Skies (20 x 3 mins) offers an opportunity to meet the creatures for whom the sky is home, and to fly with them for an eagle eye's view. The power and beauty of the natural elements are revealed in this series of short programmes certain to fuel our fascination with flight. Also on offer is Workshop Wonders (240 x 60 seconds)which reveals the secrets behind 240 unique interior design makeover projects.

From long-form programming comes Animal Antics, and the opportunity to meet a dog that climbs trees, a bicycle-riding chicken and a budgerigar that plays darts. These are just a few of the talented performers in this collection of short film extracts featuring bizarre behaviour and unusual animal escapades. Animal Antics can be used either as fillers or for individual programmes.
