The Vatican's hit back at media reports of a cover up of abuse in Wisconsin, claiming it is an attack on the Pope.
The story in the New York Times says Rev. Lawrence C. Murphy in Wisconsin was accused of molesting more than 200 deaf boys, and even though American bishops warned top Vatican officials to act, the Vatican did not move to defrock Rev. Murphy.
