What to talk about at Public Media 2007?
Most of the team are in Boston for today's programme, which is coming from the Public Media 2007 conference, and they'll be getting an early wake-up call for the morning meeting. Of course, if you'd like to join us give us a ring on +44 20 70 83 72 72.
But what to talk about? The top BBC news story at the moment is the resignation of Italy's government, but since it was big news last year when Silvio Berlusconi resigned after heading the longest-serving Italian government since World War II it's hardly news when the next government can't manage it. Or do you disagree?
Another story floating around is the Russian government discussing what to do about the country's gathering demographic crisis. That Russia is in trouble population-wise is not new, but it is an issue several countries around the world are grappling with. For instance Cyprus.
So what might get you talking? How about the likelihood that Britain's Prince Harry will get posted to Iraq, despite yesterday's announcement of a troop reduction?
Abdelilah in Morocco has already emailed to suggest the question: should Prince Harry be deployed to carry out a tour of duty in Iraq?
Or what about Norway hosting a conference that will seek to outlaw the use of cluster bombs?
The first Muslims to join the Dutch cabinet? The son of a Moroccan clergyman and a woman who immigrated to the Netherlands with her parents when she was 18 month old will be sworn in as junior ministers today.
How about the news that an Egyptian blogger has been sentenced to four years in prison for insulting Islam and the Egyptian president. His father has disowned him. A blow to free speech? A miscalculation by the Egyptian authorities? Or a court following the law?
And you were interested in talking about the profits of oil majors a couple of weeks ago, so how about the news that Goldman Sachs has paid its top three bonuses of over $50 million?
