A chance meeting at Llangollen's historic Valle Crucis Abbey has led to a new book about the Holy Grail legend associated with the atmospheric ruins.
Ian Pegler, who has a hobby doing archaeological dowsing, was at the site when he bumped into local author Scott Lloyd, co writer of the book The Keys to Avalon about the Grail and local Arthurian legends.
That meeting inspired Ian to read further works and conduct his own research, trawling through archives at the National Library of Wales as well as translating ancient Welsh poems and stories, before writing his own book, Valle Crucis and the Grail.
Here, Ian explains more about the abbey's links to the Grail legends, how dowsing helped his research, and he draws his own conculsions about the abbey and the legends.

Mum of schoolboy stuck in pipe speaks about ordeal - Denbigh Visitor

Can you identify any of the people in this photo?
It's one of many collected by Flint High School to celebrate its 75th anniversary and the school is asking for your help to identify and date them. 
There are images of school trips, sports events, music groups and many more pictures taken down the school's 75 years since it opened as Flint Central in July 1935.
There are also newspaper clippings, admission registers and punishment books helping to paint a picture of school life down the years.
The school has a number of events planned to celebrate its anniversary and is calling on all old Flintonians to join in!

Sad news this week that the community-run Raven Inn in Llanarmon yn Ial was the target of burglars who made off with up to £3,000. Workers clubbed together from their own money to get a float for the till so that the pub could open the following day.

As part of Refugee Week [14-20 June], locals are being invited to take the Home Office citizenship test - just for fun - in Wrexham Library on Monday.
It's the same test foreign visitors have to pass as part of the process to remain in the UK. And the person taking the test has 45 minutes to answer 24 questions with the pass mark at 75%.
You can try a practise test online which has true or false questions like, "In the 1980s, the largest immigrant groups were from the West Indies, Ireland, India and Pakistan.' [Correct answer below]

First, there's Green light for gas test drilling near Wrexham where Composite Energy - a company which searches for Coalbed methane in old mining areas - has been given permission for a 60-day trial drill at Hollybush Lane, Penley - despite local opposition.
Wrexham county once had 50 pits [archive: north east Wales coalfield] and Composite Energy has earmmarked two sites for closer inspection, the other being Bowling Bank, near Wrexham Industrial Estate, subject to permission being granted.
