When Penycloddiau and Moel y Gaer were at the heart of local life
Maybe it's me, but every time I go walking over the Clwydian Range I can't help thinking it must have been a cold, windswept and inhospitable place to live - in one of the Iron Age Hillforts dotted along our hilltops.
It was probably the panoramic view that made them all the rage 2000 years ago - at least you could see who was coming from a mile away [if they had the heart and stamina to visit - or attack].
Anyway, the findings of archaeological digs on the summits of Penycloddiau and Moel y Gaer earlier this summer are to given in two talks to reveal the latest thinking about our ancestors and give us some clues about their daily lives.
